Even the Murdoch Times admits: Crossrail London is an obsolete, redundant, wasteful plan!

Khoodeelaar! 'No to Crossrail hole plot' campaign analysis vindicated in the Times, London City Diary item exposing the Crossrail project as redundant. Even the Murdoch-owned London Times now recognises the essential wastefulness and CRASSness of the Crossrail holes plot ‘project’! Khoodeelaar! No to Crossrail hole Bill campaign Points out that the Murdoch-owned London Times business diary is correct to recognise the CRASSNESS of Crossrail –__Khoodeelaar! Quoting the Times ‘City Diary’ by Martin Waller, London Friday 7 September 2007 “it seems pretty pointless to open a spanking new rail line and then funnel large numbers of unnecessary passengers on to it. Plus, do we really need more traffic through Heathrow?” From The Times London Friday 7 September 2007_With Crossrail up in the air, City Airport is safe for now. Martin Waller: City Diary. A weird row has blown up between Ken Livingstone and London City Airport after Ken apparently cast doubt over the airport’s future after the coming of Crossrail in 2012, no, 2015 . . . well, whenever. The argument was that as everybody could then get to Heathrow, we might not need City. This has understandably not gone down too well at the airport. Indeed, it seems pretty pointless to open a spanking new rail line and then funnel large numbers of unnecessary passengers on to it. Plus, do we really need more traffic through Heathrow? . At City airport, the windsock suggests the drift is in the other direction. It has just filed a planning application with Newham council to increase passenger numbers from 2.4 million to 3.9 million a year by 2010, I hear, a sharp acceleration on figures quoted a mere year ago. Still, without wishing to sound callous, if I thought I might lose my job on the coming of Crossrail, I’m not sure I’d be that worried. The Office of Rail Regulation has confirmed a fine of £2.4 million on Network Rail for “poor planning and risk assessment”. This reflects some malfeasance in the Portsmouth area rather than its day-to-day business, as you might have thought. What is the point of fining a body whose only recourse to funds is the public purse, a fact admitted by Jack Straw as Leader of the House earlier this year, despite the increasingly threadbare fiction that it is a “private company”? Should the regulator’s announcement not have read: “The ORR fines all 60 million of us 4p apiece for Network Rail’s poor planning?” The corrections column in The Guardian is a never-ending source of mirth. The paper has traduced Stanley O’Neal, chief executive of Merrill Lynch, by suggesting he earnt $91 million (£45 million) in 2006. Merrills says this includes share awards from prior years, and the poor man struggled on a mere $48 million. So that’s all right, then._Anji Hunter, the Blair insider who in 2003 was brought across to work for Lord Browne of Madingley at BP, has quietly resigned and will leave at the end of the year, I am told. Hunter was known as “Blair’s gatekeeper” for her control of access to No 10, but now both men are gone one might suspect she has outlived her usefulness. Interesting to see where she turns up next._No really, I couldn’t … Another slew of awards for the City, to be launched by the Variety Club, the children’s charity, for reasons that are not entirely clear, I confess. The awards will be presented on October 18 at Guildhall by Jerry Hall. There will be banker of the year, young City personality, City journalist and one for lifetime achievement as a fund manager. The first three have yet to be decided, but Anthony Bolton has already been selected for the last. The awards will be decided by a panel on which I imagine I already have far too many enemies to qualify._It is the 20th anniversary of Barney, the bilious pink dinosaur. To mark the occasion, I can pass on the odd fact that this most American of characters is apparently huge in the Middle East. .Or at least, those bits the Americans haven’t invaded yet. ._[Khoodeelaar! In a coy item, the BBC has just posted a speculation, no doubt as ‘leaked’ to the pro-Crossrail hole-plot-backer unit at the BBC by the chief Big Business CrossRail hole plot tout Ken Livingstone, saying that a decision on CrossRail is imminent. The BBC has not posted any facts other than that. In a one sentence monosyllabic statement uttered in the mouth of the autocue-reader in the 1030 PM [2130 GMT Friday 7 September 2007] London news bulletin on BBC1 TV, they said that an announcement would be possibly made at the Blaired party [former Labour] conference in two weeks time. Crossrail is NOT a sound plan for appropriately and economically addressing the issue of Transport. . It is a City of London and Big Business plan. No to Crossrail hole Bill campaign has argued, for 43 months now, that those who promote the scheme, do so without reason or logic or rationality. That is why; I have dubbed the entire scheme as CRASSrail. This is again borne out and vindicated by the uncaring and offensive excuse given by Adrian Ruck, a spokesman for First Great Western whom you have quoted as saying as follows: .“Improving disabled access will cost a huge amount of money, about £1.5m, but the station will be knocked down and completely rebuilt when CrossRail happens.” .There is another similarly anti-social factor evident throughout the language of the pluggers of the CRASSrail scheme. It is that ‘when Crossrail is built, so and so problem will be solve4d’. .They are citing CrossRail as a panacea for all ills in society! Which proves the point that it is NOT about addressing the genuine transport needs of people in the region within the capacity and the potential of the UK economy. .In the case of inner city East End of London, the Crossrail hole plot-backers have been forced to change the phrases, the words they use. Depending on which ones we expose at a given time as being typical of the sham ‘thinking’ that has gone into the present CrossRail plan, they change the word and replace it with one they think will not show up the crassness of Crossrail. .Is this a responsible, accountable way for a band of decision-makers to behave when they have been given the use – or the waste – of hundreds of millions of £ in the name of solving a particular aspect of the transport needs of London? .I could cite hundreds of stunts and sham words used by Crossrail hole-backer Ken Livingstone… .To summarize Livingstone’s tendency and mention, it is quite possible that he will claim that Crossrail is needed to get UK competitors to win in some of the planned events at the 2012 Olympic Games! By©Muhammad Haque .1845 Hrs GMT London Friday 7 September 2007__One of imperialism and Big Business’s most persistent propaganda tools has been the London Financial Times, pretentiously abbreviated by its publishers to be referred to as FT. Despite the change of pretensions, the outlet remains as corrupt as any Big Business corruption enterprise is bound to be. In the FT’s latest promotion of the CRASSRAIL plot against the UK public purse, it has repeated the lies for CrossRail that the KHOODEELAAR! campaign has identified, examined and exposed over the past 4 years. The ‘FT’ uses as its latest peg the announcement at the start of this week [ ] that the Tory Member of the UK House of commons, Boris Johnson is seeking candidature to become mayor ‘for’ [?] London [at the scheduled May 2008 elections for the “GLA’ and the ‘Mayor’] replacing the chief tout for Crossrail, the ‘Undone mayor’ Ken Lyingstill Livingstone. In their false and untruthful plugs for CrossRail, the FT this week have again stressed that Crossrail hole plot is ‘vita’ for the economy of London and they have repeated the lie that without CrossRail, London’s economy will be jeopardised. I shall be examining the FT’s latest pack of Crossrail hole plotting lies. Already I have pointed out some key fabrications in the promotions for CrossRail around Boris Johnson that has appeared on the Daily Telegraph web site and on the SPECTATOR magazine’s s web site. I shall take the key CrossRail fabrications together and dissect them systematically in this series of reports. The Crossrail Bill does not contain the answers. .It is irresponsible of anyone to claim that making a stand as a poodle for the Big business lobby for Crossrail amounts to evidence that we need for suitability to seek election as mayor of London. .There are far too many examples of huge sums of public money being wasted on grand plans that come unstuck. .Boris Johnson will be discredited even before he starts the campaign proper if he cannot show that he is up to the task. I will debate CrossRail and London transport needs with him on any platform. .Does Boris possess enough gravitas and thought to care and to respond? .And what is Matthew doing allowing banal plugs for Crossrail to be posted on the Spectator web site without rigorous responses? Why this contradiction shows up the inadequacy of thought that has been given by Boris Johnson to the question of the transport needs in London. __And why Boris Johnson in appearing to echo the Lyingstill Livingstone’s plug for CrossRail [as reported by the FT] is showing that he, Boris Johnson cannot really compete with, let alone even make a serious dent on the prospect of the re-election of the corrupter of London. __We show why Boris Johnson has to stop lying himself. He is ‘serving’ his own ego, his own career and his own self. At the expense of the people of London. And he is doing so by sacrificing, squandering and wasting the resources and the trust and the confidence of ordinary people in London.. .. Posted in Uncategorized | Edit | No Comments »_Khoodeelaar! The ‘No to Crossrail hole Bill’ campaign comment on Oxford university town journal CHARCOL web site 07.09.2007_September 7th, 2007 By© Muhammad Haque.......Boris Johnson cannot have read the hundreds of objections lodged against Crossrail by residents and communities from across the East End and even from Mayfair in central London. Equally, he cannot have read the detailed report authored by the Rod Eddington ‘inquiry’ appointed by Gordon Brown into the UK transport economics. Even the USA Business news outlet FORBES pointed out that EDDINGTON did NOT endorse CrossRail.. This is why Boris Johnson must stop making utterances expressing support for Crossrail which is a seriously flawed project with no demand in the economy for it. There most certainly is no demand for Crossrail in the East End of London. Nor in Mayfair. There is no justification for committing £Billions from the UK Treasury to such a dubious scheme whose only backers have been the City of London and certain Big Business outfits. Crossrail has been one of two promotional topics used by a scheming Ken Livingstone to keep his image and ego permanently the headlines. Livingstone is not a democrat. Far less one with any evidence of showing genuine respect communities. People are not clamouring for Crossrail. The City of London propagandists are. And their chief tout for the time being Ken Livingstone is. Boris Johnson cannot be seriously expecting to dent Livingstone’s significant current edge by aping him on such a disastrous course! And on this basis, we can back the campaign for Boris Johnson as mayor…hoping that by the time that the [scheduled May 2008] polling date is upon us, he will have waffled away the office of mayor of London too, thus saving the people of London.. so much waste of time, resource and energy that the expensive ego-promo ton project of having a mayor has entailed…_Khoodeelaar! the East London No to Crossrail Bill campaign_[/quote]_Posted in Uncategorized | Edit | No Comments »_Khoodeelaar! No to Crossrail agrees with London Times ‘City Diary’ about pointlessness of Crossrail Friday 7 September 2007 Khoodeelaar! organiser Muhammad Haque has posted a comment on the Times web site this morning [Friday 7 September 2007]:_Martin Waller sums up a core flaw in the current Crossrail scheme, which we have pointed out._“…..it seems pretty pointless to open a spanking new rail line and then funnel large numbers of unnecessary passengers on to it. Plus, do we really need ore traffic through Heathrow?” Indeed. .So the answer to the pointlessness of Crossrail is to drop the scheme and stop any more public money being waste don it. And then address ALL of London’s [and the related UK economic] transport issues, problems solutions in a rational, environmentally and economically sound and sensible way. Let us also include the people in whose name Crossrail has been hyped and spun so far. Within minutes [on Monday 24 April 2006] of AADHIKARonline reporting the Conservative Party Chair Francis Maude’s backing to Khoodeelaar! No to Crossrail hole Bill campaign, London Mayor Ken Livingstone had his office send a strange communication to Khoodeelaar! The legal and democratic significance of the Ken Livingstone communication are enormous, especially in the last week before the scheduled local elections on 4 May 2006_2. That communication from the head of Ken Livingstone’s transport department, effectively says that the Khoodeelaar! demands for Ken Livingstone to make full disclosure of all his communications with the clique of corrupt controllers of Tower Hamlets Council are too expensive for the London Mayor to comply with !_3. There is no specific item that the London Mayor has identified in his mayor communication to Khoodeelaar on Monday 24 April 2006 as constituting an allegedly over-the-permitted limit of administration cost request under the Freed of Information Act._4. The key point is that Khoodeelaar! the campaign against the CrossRail hole Bill attacks plan on the Brick Lane London E1 area, has been issuing ken Livingstone with a series of pre-action [letter before claim] communications and the London mayor has now run out of excuses._5. At the centre of the Khoodeelaar legal action claims against Ken Livingstone lies in the fact that the mayor has persistently misled Londoners generally and the UK Parliament through his undisclosed deals with the Transport Department and in particular the people of the East End community affected by the CrossRail hole plan._6. Khoodeelaar! delivered the first demand to ken Livingstone for confirming a number of facts that were linked with the mayor’s release of a news item on 24 March 2006._7. That was followed within a day or two by other calls on Livingstone to disclose the facts of his dealing with the controlling clique on Tower Hamlets Council._8. It was again repeated by Khoodeelaar! no to Crossrail hole campaign updating their calls on Livingstone to deal with the factual questions that arose about the stunt from the written statement about the CrossRail hole Bill that was issued in the UK House of Commons by CrossRail hole Minister Alistair Darling on 30 March 2006._9. The mayor is on record as having touted for the enlisting of the ‘leaders’ and ‘lead members’ of a number of local councils, including the then leader of Tower Hamlets Council [Helal Uddin Abbas] in February 2004 as part of the Livingstone lobby for CrossRail plan._10. In a Crossrail-hole-plan promotional ‘letter’ published in 2004 under the name of Ken Livingstone together with the names of Helal Uddin Abbas and others from other local Councils, the promotion of CrossRail was made without a single qualification let alone reservation._11. Khoodeelaar! immediately wrote to both Livingstone and demanded that the Evening Standard publish the truth about the CrossRail hole plan. Khoodeelaar! campaign organiser Muhammad Haque told the Editor of the London EVENING STANDRDA that their failure to publish the truth about the CrossRail plan [as it still was - because the CrossRail hole Bill was not put before the House of Commons until 22 February 2005, almost a year after Khoodeelaar! campaign organiser Muhammad Haque was having the series of demands put on Ken Livingstone and Christine Gilbert to tell the truth of their then role in promoting the CrossRail plan. The EVENING STANADRD failed to publish the truth. As did Ken Livingstone. .12. .That was in February 2004._13. Khoodeelaar! Organiser Muhammad Haque also wrote to Tower Hamlets Council chief Executive Christine Gilbert in February 2004 and in March 2004 asking for a series of detailed answers to questions about her own role in promoting the CrossRail hole plan including the question as to what advice, if any, had she, Christine Gilbert, given to the ruling clique or group on the Tower Hamlets Council. There was no reply. There has been no reply._14. When Khoodeelaar! issued the latest then updated series of legal claims against Alistair Darling, ken Livingstone, Christine Gilbert and a few others and said that the application to the High Court in London against them would be filed on Monday 27 March 2006, a number of things immediately happened._15. Ken Livingstone suddenly issued a news release on 24 March 2006 saying that the CrossRail Dirt hole in the Brick Lane London E1 had been scrapped!_16. And that Ken Livingstone Crossrail-Dirt-hole plan against Brick Lane London E1 area scrapping stunt announcement was then used as the peg for the evening TV news which featured the entire cabal of self-seeking politicos doing their fame slots and assorted other fantasies. They were given more time than Khoodeelaar! campaign organiser Muhammad Haque who did say on the record [BBC London News, Friday 24 April 2006] that as far as Khoodeelaar! Was concerned, they had immediately asked Livingstone to substantiate the claims of the scrapping of the Crossrail Dirty hole plan and demanded that Livingstone to answer the outstanding detailed KHOODELAAR! no to CrossRail hole questions that had been put to him as based on his unqualified plugs for the CrossRail plan over the previous years_17. Accordingly, Muhammad Haque and Khoodeelaar! campaign sent the detailed further questions immediately and also went to City hall on Monday 3 April 2006 and delivered a series of questions for Livingstone to deal with._18. On the same occasion [3 April 2006] Khoodeelaar demonstrated the campaign’s opposition to Ken Lisnsgt9ine’s role so far and demanded that Livingstone come out with the overdue answers to the extensive and the very comprehensive KHOODEELAAR! No to the Crossrail hole questions which had arisen from Livingstone’s stunt staged on Friday 24 March 2006.about the alleged scrapping of the CrossRail Dirt hole._19. Livingstone remained silent_20. Until the AADHIKARonline news carried the first detailed transcripts of the Khoodeelaar! Organiser’s Questions and answers encounter with Conservative party chair Francis Maude in Brick Lane in the mid afternoon of Monday 24 April 2006._21. Ken Livingstone’s head of Transports sent an e-mail which is full of typical Ken Livingstone’s dissembling. The concept of dissembling as associated with ken Livingstone on 24 April 2006 had already been spotted and identified a month previously [on Friday 24 March 2006] out by Khoodeelaar organiser Muhammad Haque in his news interview with the BBC London political editor Tim Donovan on that date [Friday 24 March 2006].___Khoodeelaar! ‘No to Crossrail hole plot’ campaign organiser Muhammad Haque points out UK political web site’s failures to tell the truth about Crossrail which is not a public transport scheme but a Big Business scheme that is not being allowed by the MPs committee on Crossrail to be examined by the people who know about transport and who are affected by the Crossrail hole scheme…_September 6th, 2007 by khoodeelaar The UK political web site ‘politics. co.uk’ has pub shed a plug , in line with the other UK pluggers for Crossrail, around the announcement of __[Tory MP and David Cameron school-mate] Boris Johnson’s candidature for London mayor.
